How long will it take to install my cedar deck?

The length of time it takes us to install your new cedar deck depends on many factors. When we create a project estimate, we take into account the size of your deck, the layout, and whether the required materials are available from our supplier. If we need to remove an existing deck first, we also need to assess the existing deck framing and determine if it is stable or needs to be rebuilt as well.

A timeline is included with your project estimate, and we do everything in our power to adhere to that schedule.

How do I maintain my cedar deck?

At a minimum, your cedar deck should be sealed with a protective clear coat layer. However, without a tinted stain or paint, western red cedar eventually turns to a silver-gray color from the sun’s UV rays. Some customers prefer this natural look, while others maintain the rich gold tones of the cedar or other wood types. To do this, apply a tinted stain to your cedar deck. Depending on where you live and the type of stain used, this may need to be done once a year or every other year.

What types of railing can I choose?

Cedar decks have just as many options for railing choices as composite decks. Choose a cedar railing for a consistent look, or try aluminum railing, stainless-steel cable railing, or even hog panel railing to add visual interest. We have plenty of experience working with all types of railing.
